Erratum to gastric perforation during second intragastric balloon treatment: a case report

Erratum to: AME Case Rep 2022;6:15

The article that published in the Vol 6 (April 2022) Issue of the AME Case Reports (ACR) (1), contained 2 factual errors.

• The patient did not present with gastritis on the first endoscopic examination but did have esofagitis LA grade B and bleeding from a lesion in the gastroesofageal junction.
• The patient initially was treated with an Orbera365 IGB, and thus the recommended maximum treatment period of 12 months was not exceeded.

The authors believe that this does not substantially alter the conclusions drawn from this case report. A period of only 9 days between the IGB treatments could still have been a cause of gastric perforation considering the esophagitis observed during the first endoscopy, and especially that the patient had a 12 months IGB treatment period prior to the new IGB treatment.
